I know today isn’t the day to criticise after what has to be the most insane day I’ve ever had at ML.
However, as much as I love Ruben, he rarely shows up for the big games. Whenever I feel we’re playing a game where the stage is set for him, he doesn’t deliver.
Hopefully he’s saving it all up for Sunday.
Come on boys, one more win!

Slocombe - Left totally exposed for both of the goals….not for the only time on the game either. Dealt with what he had to well - 7

Rawlo - standing still with the rest of the defence for the first goal but otherwise did ok. Replaced by Brindley, be interesting to see who starts next week with the threat of Colclough and Dobra the cheating little git to deal with - 6

Baldwin - Now that was a mixed bag. Totally oblivious at the back on numerous occasions and was lucky his errors only contributed to the one goal. However, his two goals will live long in my memory…that 97th minute goal amongst my favourite ever moments! - 7

Cameron - I said not long ago he’s becoming a defensive liability but others disagreed. Full effort but some kamikaze defending at times - 6

Nemane - Totally out muscled for their first goal when I thought he could’ve made the clearance but his work down the right and that amazing goal saving challenge in extra time were worth a point in themselves - 7

Chicksen - Love the guy but he was pretty anonymous today. One really good ball into the box in the first 5 minutes but not much else - 6

Bostock - Didn’t have a great game imo. There was a lot of hanging onto the ball too long and general complacency on the ball. He proper messed up for their first goal. Good celebrations at the end though - 6

Palmer - When others don’t show up he literally always does. I remember one poor pass from him all day. Brilliant, so glad he has signed, invaluable to us. MOTM by some distance - 8

Austin - Ok I suppose. Didn’t really have much joy today against a super organised Wood defence. A few decent balls into the box but his performance summed up a lot of others too….I just think Boreham Wood are all wrong for Notts and the type of players we have - 6

Ruben - He was nowhere near as bad as what others have suggested but it is true his last two games have not been very good for us. I don’t doubt that he cares, but has just suffered a slight dip in form at the wrong time! Poor penalty. Glad we get to see him one last time at Wembley…let’s hope his last game is a good one - 6

Macca - No lack of effort in his behalf but almost totally marked out of the game. One or two half chances but it just wasn’t his day. Hopefully his supposed last game for Notts will, like Rubén’s, be much more memorable for the right reasons - 6

Scott - Made no impact really but put himself about well. It’ll be interesting who can step up next year out of him and Austin when Macca and Ruben aren’t here - 6

Jones - I said earlier in the week that Jones would be key to beating Boreham Wood, and he was! Had a difficult start but what two priceless moments of joy he provided when we needed them most. Bit of an odd character….I wonder if he’d like to stay - 7.5

JOB - Hardly noticed him but I’m sure he was doing something! - 6

Brindley - He’s been quiet since returning and I haven’t noticed him much. Came in and was calm when we needed it. I love Rawlo, and I imagine he’d be devestated to miss out again…but does Brindley start at Wembley?! However, it was a big mistake leaving him out before.

I’m not going to mark anyone lower than a 5 but a big improvement is needed if we’re to win next week. Our defending was diabolical at times today. However, what a day. I’ll never forget those goals in the dying moments…ever!

Really surprised when this thread started with Bostock being a close 2nd for MoM.
I thought he typified what Notts did wrong today tbh. Poor vision for most of his passes, always looking backwards, slipping into CB role (which I can forgive as the cover when others like Baldwin storm forwards, the complete refusal to pass to Nemane, who was probably close to 2nd choice for MoM for me.
He’s had his good games, but today was one to forget for him imo. And that’s not mentioning his mistakes leading to them scoring…

Bostock - I thought he was strong for most of the game, but he gave the ball away that led to the first as well as the second goal.

Nemane - had some great moments. He runs out of enough zip to round a player after about half an hour though. And he needs to push down the wing more instead of turning back, imo. Still, a standout performance for me.

Macca - did better in the second half, including some good tackling back. There's no doubt he was well marked in a very heavily congested BW penalty box, but I think he'd agree that his performance grade depends on how well he deals with that. Lots of top strikers are largely invisible, but the best will still find a way to impact the game.

Williams' comment post match about some players needing more big game experience was probably referring to Ruben's lack of composure in front of goal, but this and the game at Wrex will also be the biggest games Macca's ever played in and he didn't do much in either. He's had a brilliant season, and he's on such a steep performance curve over the last couple of years, it's no slur to want him to push on.

I think Macca and Rodders will feel more settled after today. I think they'll set Wembley alight

Jodi - he, and we, will remember that goal for ever!!! His assist was no bad either As happy for him as I was for Bostock against Wrex.

All in all = Brilliant Notts!

Every player scores 10/10 for me. That's not based on performance because we weren't at our best, it's based on the 'never say die' attitude that Luke Williams has instilled into the squad where we win as a team or lose as a team.

Just one more game please Luke.

It looked to me Ruben was injured and was asking to stay on despite not being able to run.
