Exactly the same impression that I got. Not only that, there were club officials offering first dibs on away tickets to the executive box club rather than let them queue with the peasants on a pyssing down day in the ponty car park. OK, it's all done online now but back then thy ed to queue for the box office to get thi tickets.

Your season ticket money is invaluable though remember.

I found it all a bit confusing. There were some raggy(ish) lads in when I went, obviously not adhered to the dress code and a bit rowdy come kick off time. Then thy ed businesspeople who couldn't give two shytes about football, clearly there for some so called posh nosh and a meeting. Thy also ed some gobby lasses with about as much class and etiquette as a bunch of women on a hen party staggering art of Chennels at chucking art time. This amidst all the pompous nature of the surroundings, I found it all superficial and quite surreal to be honest.
