Wasn't in pain and had to be somewhere so I got a couple of matches and some electrical insulation tape, bound my finger and went about my day before going to hospital on the evening.

Turned out that rather than actually snapping, the attaching ligament had torn itself clean of the bone and I had one of those plastic finger splint things bandaged to my finger for a couple of months or so.

Everything's fine now but life was awkward for a while. I had to w@nk with the other hand, a most unusual and not entirely unpleasant experience when all's said and done 😊 .
The left handed w a n k cane into vogue with the advent of the computer mouse.

It feels wrong doing it with the right hand now!🤣

I had something else on my mind as I pushed the door shut and left the first inch of my thumb in perfect position to get shut in the drivers door.

The door slammed completely shut with the thumb trapped, it took me 5 to 10 seconds of sheer panic and terrible agony to grab the door handle with my other hand and release it.

The last 3/4 of my thumb was squashed flat once released, i was convinced I’d broken it or at worst might’ve crushed it beyond repair.

An hour of cold water and ice pack and by some miracle it’s actually okay and not bothering me too much.

I’m amazed at how the incident could have even occurred, it was random and ridiculous!

Any other stupid, self inflicted injuries by others on here?

Let’s hope it was your left hand 😂

If you’re right handed, it makes no sense whatsoever to use the mouse in your right hand; use the mouse in your left hand and that enables the use of your right to write notes from what you have on your screen. Simple logic.

What is this “writing” you speak of?

Hardly ever need to actually write anything these days if I’m working on the computer and it’s totally unnatural to use the left hand for the mouse anyway unless you’re left handed.

I don’t know any left hand mouse users tbh.

    Yes you do, me!

I worked on computer systems for many years and often found it useful to make notes whilst reviewing a program or a document.

Yeah, but he wasn't on about using his left hand to take notes in the first 'hand' Mike 😉 .

I was going to post about a certain incident but think I should not bother as it has been covered. It entailed dick, zip, pain, hospital and total humiliation
