IMO, Brooks has already closed the gap on Slocombe - if it's only those two, I think he should start in August

Why do we have to treat a 21 year old man with kid gloves?

Yes, thanks to OchPie for posting, would never have caught that

There has to be a slim chance still of getting Maircat back. There are 4 other keepers in the Norwich site (Krul, Gunn, McCracken, Barden - all internationals too)

Based on this season, if it’s a choice between the two, it’s Slocombe every time!

We are very fortunate to have him at our club.
I could not agree more and as there were no surprises it's the one thing that jumped out at me. In the past there has been a generic one liner at the end saying something like we thank them for their efforts and wish them well.

So it's refreshing to read the thoughts of the head coach, but also the insight it brings is most welcome. Nothing but intelligent thoughtful, and unassuming comments from LW and just like our owners. The club has so much class and dignity.

If we had not got promoted then I do wonder if we may have kept them or one of the two? At the age they are at 23/24 it's time for them to get lots of minutes and become dominant players and if that's not possible with us then it's only right for them that they have the opportunity to do that elsewhere. Chesterfield is not far away and I imagine they will be wanting to cease the opportunity now both ourselves and Wrexham are gone so they might be interested in signing them?

There are a few teams in the NL who like to play football. It's rare to find a team like Notts but there are definitely sides he could go to to develop

Wealdstone do, can’t remember how good their keeper was. I can’t make a judgement on him as I’ve not seen a lot on him, my guts telling me he won’t be our No1 this season or next.

Not sure about Tiddlywinks (great game as a kid), and doubt you can bet on it even if the World's was next month, at Potters Bar.

Do you have any thoughts on the retained list?
Surprised that Slocombe , Rawlinson and Obrien have been offered contracts. I thought we could have found younger counterparts to perhaps fill these positions with the potential to grow. May be find a rough diamond.

Seemed like there's a glimmer of hope there, in terms of how he talked about next steps around 12:20.
Good listen and sounds like a level headed and honest guy. Did do a double take when he said that referees have to “pluck up the courage”. There’s been a lot of occasions in the past where referees have done what I initially mistook Archie to say.

My sauce is so far quite on whether there is any prospect of Archie and Notts continuing their futures together. In any event it sounds as though nothing will be decided until he goes back to Norwich at the end of June. Obviously, if his future lies elsewhere then we all wish him well and thank him for his contribution in getting Notts back in the EFL.

A couple of my mates are surprised re Slocombe, I am a little re Rawlinson, JOB makes sense to me.

As someone correctly highlighted the details of the contract (wage) and expected player standing for next season will play a big part in any offer.

As for the #radar, only the most stubborn, biased or blind still doesn't trust it. Those few have wisely gone very quiet on the subject, as they should
