So as far as FFP goes we will look pretty good.

Not sure we can plan our summer spending to include Champions League money in subsequent seasons mind (supposed to be around 100M with about 80% of that from TV money)… because if we don’t make it after next season then our wages and remaining payments will be burning a big hole in the balance and restrict our spending in the future.

So I agree that we will have a nice pot of money to spend (once CL footy is definitively ours) but just not sure how much we will actually spend on fee’s and wages, and also Eddie might have his own thoughts about how many players he would want to bring into the squad at any one time.

I’m sure everyone has their lists of outgoings and positions they want to see reinforced/replaced… but we probably won’t do it all in the summer.
Correct - due to the wealth of our owners the biggest advantage of CL football isn’t the prize money but the amount it allows us to spend on new players within the FFP rules.
This is the reason our owners have been so smart in bringing in the backroom staff as it’s not a case of just throwing money around to build a good squad. We still need to continue to be very savvy in our purchases.
Because of Ashworth, I expect us to buy like Brighton. No ‘Neymars and Messis’ but ‘ McAllisters, Caicedos and Ecisios’. This will mean two things: we can buy more players within the FFP rules (which we will need as we’ll play in more competitions), and that we won’t need to pay mega salaries as we would for established stars.

We are in fact being run as a mirror image of Chelsea FC.
