Like all of us, I've seen Notts lose plenty but losing to Forest really sticks in the craw. I don't feel like that about Mansfield, Derby or Chesterfield.
We've been too far apart for too long and it sort of dulls the senses of what losing to our greatest rivals feels like, it's horrible.
Losing 4-0 and watching our ground overrun with them under Warnock was a sickener.

    The club? No, not particularly.

The arrogant element of their mostly 1970s-captured fans who like to pretend to wish us well and say they think of us as their irrelevant little brother - until we're in the same division and they feel threatened? 100%.

Without Fword, I think I can say with some confidence that Notts would have most likely followed a similar trajectory to Derby, Leicester, Leeds, Middlesbrough or Southampton, in which case we would never have set foot in tier 4, never mind tier 5. A training ground would never have been an issue either. At worst we would have had a similar history to Coventry, Cardiff or Preston.

The pair of us could well have interchanged Sheff United/Sheff Wednesday style over the past 60 odd years had they not won the FA Cup and we not gone down at the end of the 1950s.

Hate - no. Dislike -yes. Enjoy it when they lose- yes. Hate I reserve for corrupt manipulators of sport like Man City, Chelsea etc.

I don’t hate them, but I’ve never wanted them to win a game of football in my life.

Also, I always have to tone down my appreciation a little when someone I admire - say, the Manic Street Preachers’ James Dean Bradfield - turns out to be a Forest fan.

While talking about Forest, does anyone know what’s happening with the rebuild of their main stand? Last I heard, they were putting it on hold for another season and keeping the current capacity in 23/24.

Don't like them as a club or a large section of their arrogant fanbase, all the other local clubs fans don't like them either and think the same (apart from Mansfield) who seem to suck up to them.

They have got to sort out where the Rowing Club will be temporarily rehoused while the work is going on, until that happens they can't begin so as you say it won't be until next year at the earliest although I'm dubious they'll ever do it.
