    McTominay would be back up for Sean. I’d prefer Sean to be back up for someone even better.

    Yeah, f**k McTominay… he’s not as good as Longstaff, and I don’t want to add to their coffers…. but I see Longstaff being as the player who is rotated in for a better class of defensive mid… and Longstaff would have a player to learn from in the squad… because that’s where I see him long term.

    100%, This helps them more than us. Longstaff is better than SM and we should aiming higher than Longstaff. That Kimmich lad for example.

    Aye. I've been one of Longstaff's supporters and he's a great squad member...but...if we're to go to the next level, he's probably playing in the role we'd be looking to upgrade.

    He's far better than McTominay, imo, and has deserved the plaudits he's had this season. Especially with the extra European games, he's got a big role to play next season but I think he'll be second choice come the start of the season.
