    There’s not much point speculating on where we’ll finish until we see what the squad additions/losses are.

    One thing that’s in our favour this season is that, for once, the National League playoffs finished relatively early. Last season, Grimsby beat Solihull on June 5 and had to play their first EFL game on July 30. Given that, I’d say they did well to finish 11th.

    Yeah from memory and limited knowledge Grimsby bumbled around 16th for most of the season then had a few wins near the end to get them up to 11th, not forgetting they did well in the FA Cup so would have probably prioritised that.

    Yeah definitely, also they finished 6th on 77 points which suggests they weren’t an especially great side even in the NL notwithstanding their somewhat flukey progression through the playoffs.

    There’s no doubt in my mind that if we get recruitment right we could be right up there with a fair wind of luck and injuries. As Utm says, we don’t really do mid table consolidation.
