Be a bit hard on Darren Moore though after he got the owls promotion and Duff didn’t? I know footballs a hard game but surely that would be a bit of a toughie?
Nothing has been confirmed yet.
Why would a club which has just lost out in a Play Off campaign with a coach who is successful and to whom most fans laud and who have an emotional attachment towards suddenly lose that coach and possibly one or two of the better players and maybe some coaching staff going with him ? Unlikely to happen at Barnsley.
Oh, wait a minute.
When this kind of speculation gets to this level then in my experience following this club it inevitably only ever goes one way .
My thoughts are already turning to who we bring in next .
Watford are in talks to sign Barnsley midfielder Callum Styles and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors forward Cho Gue-Sung.
Watford remain in negotiations on the structure and details of a deal to bring Cho to the club but personal terms are understood to be agreeable.
A fee has not yet been agreed between Barnsley and Watford for Styles, who previously played under Watford head coach Valerien Ismael at Barnsley during the 2020-21 campaign.
Sources: Luton Town open talks to sign Barnsley star Mads Andersen
Luton Town are in talks to sign Barnsley defender Mads Andersen, sources have told Football Insider.
Premier League new boys Luton are working under a tight budget in this summer’s transfer window and they see Andersen as a viable target with the player in the final year of his contract at Oakwell.
Barnsley are unlikely to be able to reject a sizeable offer for the 25-year-old this summer.

Basically because it’s nothing to do with the club.
It’s completely the choice of the head coach.
That is to say Barnsley Football Club hasn’t approached Swansea City and asked them it they are interested in signing our head coach.
As mentioned months ago after the Supporters Trust meeting.
You could clearly see with the people from the club that attended that meeting who was there for the long haul, Jean, JAQ and Neerav - and who was there to use Barnsley as a stepping stone towards something more financially rewarding, Khaled and Michael Duff.
Nothing up with that.
These employees of the club have families to consider.
One thing to note - if championship clubs are after our head coach and some of our players then Barnsley is obviously doing something right.
In James we trust.
