THESE are the moments when it is tight for Stokes to attack, it’s all about having the nous to know when to take the attack to the opposing side.

The Aussies will probably still win as we need 93 as I write this but if they do lose it will be in large part due to Carey’s run out firing up Stokes and Broad.

I do believe that had Bairstow run out Carey in the same way that Stokes would’ve called him back to bat and reversed the appeal.

I’ve mentioned before on here that I was once manager of a Sunday morning team and we played a very good side from 3 or 4 divisions above us in our league FA Cup of sorts semi final.

We scored a late equaliser in extra time which was a blatant handball by my player.

It sat very badly with me and I instructed our penalty takers to pass their penalties back to the opposing keeper and we lost 3-0 in the shoot out.

20 odd years later I’m still glad we did that.
