One of the problems of the war in Ukraine dragging on is that a kind of media fatigue sets in and people stop thinking about it. But it remains a big concern with global implications still and I think it is important that the West doesn't falter in its support as Putin is obviously happy to now play a long game if he has to. I had hoped, like many, that the "mutiny" might have had a far bigger impact. A failed Russian state benefits no one but Putin needs to go and be punished for his actions with the message to similar leaders such as Xi Jinping made clear. The Ukrainians have shown incredible resilience and suffered greatly and they deserve Western support to help them bring an end to Putin's illegal attack on them.

When talking about Ukraine and the issue of the media and public losing interest, I am also keenly aware that there are also many other conflicts across the globe where thousands of innocent people are suffering but because these are happening in Africa or China or India or the Middle East to people's who are a different colour and vastly different culture to ours we tend to give scant regard to them. They may not carry the same geo-political threats to us as Russia but they are still atrocities that should not be ignored.

Not decrying the rights of LGBTQ communities but the whole Pride month celebrations in the UK now seems just like woke box ticking on behalf of businesses and government and in the context of other things going on in the world I agree that it hardly seems proportionate.

I agree with everything you say. It is so noticeable that the media, in print, on line, tv all now cover the war, and it is a Ferkin was Mr murdering Putin, a war you started, but it no longer is the lead story in all the afore mention media’s. And there are wars going on all over the world and they are shockingly awful and cause so much human misery.

The thing is, how do we as a nation, we in the west, we who respect human life, deal with these atrocities. If we police the world we are hated, we pull back, we lose respect. We do nothing, we are hated and we lose respect.

LGBT+ is fine, but all this pandering to everything is weakening us as a society. We need to allow people to be different but not to the loss of others who want not to be different. We need to respect every way of life. When the respect for freedom and they way of life we choose is lost then we’ll end up where Russia and many other totalitarianism countries are. You, me everyone will have not rites other than to follow the likes of Putin or be jailed or killed.
