It's really frustrating because there's nothing between the sides.

England just seem determined to give the Ashes to Australia on a whitewash plate.

The results thus far would say otherwise. As we're frequently reminded throughout the football season, the best team doesn't always win.

There really is not a lot between the sides, England's catching has cost them dear so far. Oh for a fit Wood and Archer, no greater site in cricket than a bowler sending them down at 96/7 mph. Even greater on a quick wicket with bounce.

I think that is fair. Bairstow has been bought in because he apparently is a better batter… how’s that going?

Another difference for me would a that when Australia have got on top, they stayed on top. When England have, and they have in game 1 and yesterday, they have found ways to let Australia back.
Ironically, in the first 2 tests, day 1 has let England down. If we lose this test by less than 100, then dropping Marsh yesterday, will be a massive contribution.

Lots of factors obviously but that is as good a shout as any IMO -"Catches win matches"

Still very entertaining series to date. Two fantastic games played, this one is shaping up to be another and very few boring sessions let alone days. Good stuff.

Yeah we've shot ourselves in the foot this series, should at least be one all. We've been dozy in the field. We bowled so well yesterday, to come in at stumps having lost 3 was very disappointing but we knew australia we're going to start bowling well. Should be an interesting day, hopefully we can build a good partnership now.

Another wicket needlessly thrown away. 131-6
