Well whoever it is, their TV presenting career is now history. Look at the carry-on over Schofield, because of an affair wiith someone well over the age of consent.
I think the issue is should the BBC name the person before it is proven they, he or she, (or other) are actually guilty.
If they don’t do it, then everyone who works at the BBC is under suspicion.
The Sun is a filthy rag of a newspaper, in my opinion of course. If they know who the person is just name them. Stand by your journalists or wait until you’re not scared of being sued and you can confirm who the subject is.
Imagine working at the BBC and being under suspicion. The pressure on family life if you are totally innocent.
The BBC have stated that the TV presenter involved is male. The BBC have also reported the individual concerned to the police, they surely wouldn't have unless they thought a crime had been committed?
But what exactly is the crime?
You can have s e x at 16 and you can drive a car at 17 but you don’t legally become an adult until you’re 18.
I’m not trying to be obtuse here mate, I just don’t see where the actual “crime” is in this instance?
Maybe someone knows the actual law on this stuff.
It’s morally repugnant and I would be beyond angry if it were my daughters or my son involved but other than being a bit of a sicko sand morally bankrupt I’m not sure a crime has been committed.
Having this in the hands of the Met Police and the BBC only leaves me fearing the worst, neither have a clue and are likely to be tripping over in their Wokism whilst fumbling around with this case.
An image of a minor under 18 years of age is a crime in UK Mick.
That may be the investigation to start.
Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. The investigation should be private and confidential and not involve the general public. The general public made disgusting assumptions on Nicola Bulley’s husband and even on those poor parents whose daughter went missing in the Algarve.
Let the BBC handle it as would any HR dept if this was not in the public eye.
You’re joking aren’t you?
The BBC were told about this by the mother nearly two months ago and they’ve done nothing about it.
In desperation she contacted The Sun to get help and requested no fee for the story.
Since she reported this to the BBC on the 19th of May this presenter has continued to front programmes and has been pictured Hobnobbing at a party of BBC employees and dancing with the management this was reported to?
To be honest AL………I wouldn’t want you running the HR department at a company where my child was involved in a scandal like this.
You don’t think 8 weeks is enough time to get to the bottom of this?
Would you not have put the accused on gardening leave whilst this was investigated?
I can’t get my head around your stance on this, if it was your youngest being targeted in a couple of years time, I know you well enough to know you’d have driven up to the BBC and got the management by the throat.
HR and “due process” etc…..do me a favour mate!
