Mental health is never taken seriously. Having compulsive behaviour is a mental health issue. Imagine what it’s like to not be able to stop yourself. It’s an awful place to be. The laws require justice for anyone harmed by behaviours but the person who is struggling with serious issues needs help too. The problem with ***ual matters is that we live in a country that doesn’t talk openly about ***ual problems, so it’s easier to say “I’ve got a problem I can’t stop punching people in the face” than I’ve got ***ual behaviour that worries me. It’s a fact that women fantasise more than men but men are more likely to carry out the fantasy. Add that to any kind of emotional problem/ genetics/ epigenetics (how your DNA can be altered due to early childhood experiences) and other factors and it can become a frightening escalating problem. When something someone does isn’t considered to be normal behaviour you have to ask yourself “What is behind the behaviour?” Justice has to be carried out but dysfunctional people need help. It’s no good just locking them up while people vent hatred toward them. They need help. With ***ual dysfunction getting help is very very difficult, both asking for it and getting it.

Totally agree Boingy although for me the line is crossed at rape or murder. Take the Met Police guy who murdered Sarah Everard - for me it’s irrelevant whether he needs help as he should be executed.

Whilst mental health is never about money - those with money can afford private treatment immediately. Those without money have to wait on average 2 weeks to see a GP - 3/6 months for a referral and then take their chances with an inexperienced person. Those with money can buy the best treatment and see the best people! Again I repeat - nothing to do with money getting mental health issues in the first place - just easier and quicker on a resolution if there is one!

My point Mick is it should not be top of the news over murders and school girl gymnasts getting groomed and molested by their coach. Many who are in a marriage man and woman tolerate gays as everyone to their own - but many would switch this news over! Had it been a girl under 16 there would have been outrage and rightly so but hey that’s going on all the time with grooming gangs etc.

Flirting at work places happens all the time with all ages as long as it does not get offensive. I remember says to an 18/19 year old - nice top! Does not mean I was looking at her t its! The world has gone mad!

The BBC won’t even have his medical records yet and until they do - who knows his state of mind as no criminal act took place and the police are not taking this further.

A gym coach molesting girls under 16 does not even make the news but a celebrity asking an adult of consent to show his p rick does! No wonder Putin laughs at the West!

The hierarchy of what’s newsworthy isn’t the impact of something; it’s how interesting it is to the public. There will always be something bigger impact-wise but it doesn’t make it front page.

A countries laws should match its morals. The whole nation feels a 60 year old man in ***ual conduct with a 17 year old is wrong. Frankly, 16 and 17 year olds are still vulnerable and we really need a law change to represent modern values.

Dele Ali now says he been abused. Personally I feel more for Joe Public where there’s abuse, rape and mental illness but unlike wealthy celebrities many can’t afford top private help so suffer in silence. Some celebrities would do anything or say anything just to stay relevant! Can’t those with money just enjoy it as seems like many are more miserable than many who don’t have a pot to p iss in!

I think I was the first one on here to mention Huw's Huw and I will admit to feeling a little bit guilty and sorry for the man having heard of his mental history....

....but having read Mick's comments this has changed. Mick is right. Mental health card up his sleeve thinking it's his get out of jail free card.

Furthermore, he is a 61 year old earning the thick end of 500k. He has had plenty of time and money to find the best psychiatrist available to sort himself out.

He has waited and waited and continued this lewd behaviour and now he has been caught literally with his pants around his ankles.....

.....too late Huw. Far too late. Deserves all that comes his way.

The friend was told by an early 20’s relative that EIGHT years ago they’d been paid by Edwards for seedy photos.

The relative urged them to come forward with the info when he was told but the person involved was now in their early to mid 20’s and didn’t want the hassle and embarrassment.

My understanding is that this case would’ve been much more serious if it’d come to light.

I’ve read Boingy’s post and he knows I have more than the utmost respect for him and I owe him a lot for guiding me to the right help for me personally and I do understand his points.

BUT……in this particular case I honestly believe that the mental health card is being used and abused big time.

This bloke has allegedly been at this for a very long time and the behaviour is sinister.

Live and let live and what people do behind four walls is up to them. Many though including me are not interested in gay scandals, Pride or many turn the television over when two men have got their tongues down each others throats. Yuk!

Celebrities are shallow - selfish and mainly for themselves! Who gives a flying f uck now about Dele Ali? At least he can afford the best treatment that money can buy! Jo Public who have more issues struggle to afford food bills let alone private treatment for mental health. Get a grip!

And you could be right Mick. It’s just that the moment someone knows there’s something not right about their behaviour (Huw could have been a ****ager when he knew) it should be something he could easily express his concerns about. Unfortunately he (like all of us of his age group) would know that he would have been given a thick ear so he would have kept silent. These are secret problems and when it’s out in the open it’s like a bomb has gone off in your life. No longer safe just terrified of how the public will lay into you. It should be easy to talk about but unfortunately especially in Britain it’s something families of our generation in particular never talked about.
