Think Denham got beat in the air for the first goal in the build up, after that it was hard to judge centre halves and keeper as they didn't have much to do. Tony Watts penalty was woeful. At the end we were putting in a lot of crosses and had a bit of pressure, but absolutely no one to win headers in opposition box. Not sure why we are starting with two def mids in Grimshaw and Docherty against Spartans. I think Goodwin thought this was his best team at present to start with, but I'd be playing the youngsters now to see if they are any good enough for the league. Another thing that really stood out for me today, just how poor our full backs are, they offer nothing going forward and are not great defensively. I'm not getting too concerned yet because I think we will get players in before start of the season, have to as that squad has too many average players and we need strikers.
agree with this. We were the better team and so we should have been. The lack of any Ariel threat in the box or half decent striker cost us today. Watt should never have started today and don’t get me started on that penalty. Striker has to be a priority and hopefully a couple of other players still to come in. Still, no excuses for today that was just no where near good enough.
