The club are encouraging the notion that it was them who pulled the plug on the Jesse deal and claim some kind of moral high ground on this.

It was a simple fact that personal terms could not be agreed. Jesse wanted somewhere around X, the club wanted to pay somewhere around Y.

Who said "No thanks" first is not confirmed. Only some guessing by the Club Loyalist Pack on BBS started the, "We pulled out first" stuff.

I read that the rumour Jesse has not signed has now moved on from his agent demanding high wages to him failing the medical. Again no confirmation from any official source--as their wouldn't be with a confidential medical. There never seemed to be an issue at Halifax.

We will be able to judge the truth of this if Jesse does sign for a bigger club--though then it will be, "Their doctors aren't as good as ours" or "They are taking a risk".

Rumours are good to read but they are what they are--rumours

Rumours are exactly that but some take every rumour as near fact during the close season , I think the desperation for any news fuels some of the reactions but regarding the Deborah proposed transfers there is something clearly not right & it would appear to be a problem is with the player or his agent, three clubs have walked away from striking a deal so something is clearly not right , lets hope what ever his problem is he gets it sorted because I think it is great if any young player gets the opportunity to step up from none league & progress up the ladder . Regarding our part in this saga I have read most of the forums & social media & when we walked away the club took some proper stick , I think on this occasion unfairly.

That's the point I'm making Shads--it's becoming assumed as fact that it was the club that walked away. It was a post originated by one poster with no official supporting information ie a rumour. For all we know it could have been Jesse who did the walking.
    It'll all cummart int wesh.

We never know what the ins and outs are till we get told. I remember when Conway divulged and made a joke of it that a player actually drove off from the club when he was about to sign for us. Gyokeres I believe it was. He scored over 40 goals in 2 seasons at Coventry and signed for Sporting Lisbon for a reported 20m. We instead ended up signing Obi and Iseka who clearly saw Conway coming.

Big week coming up for the club regarding recruitment .

Watters and Andy Dallas sound close to completion .

The right wing back from Forest Green plus talk of two European based centre backs .

It could look very different by Thursday .

I've a gut feeling Jordan Williams will be sold , the clue is with the prospective acquisition of the Forest Green lad plus we have Cotter has back up .

We also have to factor in that money needs to come in for players for others to be recruited .

Where we are at and where we are recruiting from suggests the sale of Williams brings in three to four players , even on frees or very low outlay we still have to pay a signing on fee , agent fees and the players personal terms over two to four seasons .

I really don't see four or five permanent players arriving here without at least one more player leaving .

There’s also the possibility of surplus from premier league teams, like Tedic, who might hit the loan market.

I still can’t get me head around the fact we are in such dire straits with regard to finance from a once (for us) reasonably healthy position. We’re shopping in the footballer food bank, owt for nowt now, and as we’ve seen before some will be hopeless eg Martin last season and some might do a job.

The fact is we’re hardly making the progression we were promised. It’s frustrating.

Transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday 1st September, five weeks to go.

Plenty of time for Championship who have made a poor start or need to replace a player they themselves have lost to come sniffing late on and Ahmad just didn't have the time to get replacements over the line despite working 24/7.

Could well be a lot more "churn" in the coming weeks.

Ahmad may say, "We have done our business" but it is other club's bids that control events, not Ahmad's words.

It looks like Cardiff will finally be offloading Watter's wages permanently this week, maybe today, by letting him move on a free to Barnsley.

Watters didn't quite cut it in the Championship but could well be useful at Third Division level over a season. Watters will have to take a significant cut in wages but this could be a last chance saloon for the 24 year old if he secures a three/ four year contract at Oakwell.

Bobby Thomas signed a 4 year deal for Coventry.
