I think the Covid enquiry will conclude something similar.
‘Believing’ is not fact too, just like my opinion of not thinking anyone else would have done any better is just like yours, an opinion and not fact.

That's true in one sense, but only half true in another. We will obviously never know how Labour / LibDems / Greens / Reform / UKIP / Monster Raving Loony would have done, but that doesn't mean that the party in power, the Conservative party, shouldn't be held to account for any failings simply because "other parties might have been just as bad".

That's why I referenced the Covid enquiry, because their report should be based on facts.

Oh come on, does anyone really take any notice of ElitePies deranged socialist rhetoric, he gives us all a laugh with his laughable views, leave him alone. He makes my day reading his garbage.

I agree with that, and there should be accountability, but it was a difficult situation and I’m sure others would make mistakes that’s all I’m saying.

Of course tories are going to do worse in a 'public' health crisis - their whole reason d'etre is to promote the private sphere.

Saying 'it wouldn’t have mattered who was in charge' makes no sense based on the historical and philosophical origins of the main political parties.
Great balanced view there, keep it up 👍

Oh come on Soccerman, make my day. Please post "in Rishi we trust".

Somehow, I think that would be a step too far even for you!

Intrigued, who do you think should be in power and lead, and why would they do a better job?

I don't for a minute think any party would have offered the perfect solution, but I would hope they'd have avoided some of the more basic errors and a lot of the corruption. From the very start it was obvious that those most at risk were the elderly with pre-existing medical conditions. Care homes are full of the elderly with pre-existing medical conditions. How did the government handle that?

Again, over to the Covid enquiry for an answer.

I don't have a party I can fully support, so I've said many times that I think the best short term solution would be a coalition government taking the best (more honest) of all of them. Not a cat in hells chance it will happen.

Why would they do a better job? Purely on the basis it would be hard to do a worse job since Boris Johnson became PM.

EP you seem to think it some sort of victory for you, by me saying some Tory's lined their pockets during covid due to having friends in right places, in effect, it seems pretty obvious that this would happen, as it does in all walks of business, political or not. Equally this would have applied had Labour been in power too. It just makes me chuckle that Lefty supporters think that their politicians are completely brown envelope free.
