It does make him a hypocrite, I don't think there's any denying that. But do I blame him for going? No-his personal battle between his principles and his bank balance has shown how strongly held those principlies are but, again, that's not a criticism, merely an observation. He's already rich beyond the dreams of most of us but more money has won out over his principles.

On a side note, Raga, I dont think your comment about trans folk being mentally ill is fair at all. Without getting into a big debate, it basically comes down to who we are-are we defined by the body we have or by the 'person' we are-and I don't just mean who we think we are. The traditional definition of gender is too narrow and based totally on the whole 'if you have a dick, yoou're a man' notion.

And yeah, i know a lot of people-maybe most people- would stop reading right there and think 'yep, that's the way it is' and I was definitely in that camp....

...right up until a member of my family came out as trans. I've done a lot of research, a lot of thinking and a lot of soul-searching to try to understand and I've done a complete 180 in my thinking. in my experience, trans people aren't mentally ill at all (albeit having a body that doesn't fit with who you feel you are can certainly drive someone to be that way).

I'm definitely not trying to preach or have a go and everyone has their own opinion but it's absolutely not a black and white situation (which, as I say, I thought it was until I had cause to challenge my own thinking).
    Well put, Zip. 100% agree.

Sold his ‘beliefs’ for 700k per week.

One thing I’ve learnt in my life; it’s what you do, not what you say, that counts.
    It’s an odd one…

All decent minded folks have a ‘live and let live’ approach and it’s only the morons who don’t believe in equal rights for all race/colour/creed/***uality… the list goes on as more and more differences between human beings is discovered I guess.

Saudi is a cultural thing, but it was only in the late 60’s that homo***uality was decriminalised in the UK… I think there are posters on here who were alive when it was illegal… and people didn’t get beheaded for it… but that’s not the only crime with that punishment in the Kingdom.

Is Jordan a hypocrite.. yeah…he is, but he’s not the first and won’t be the last. McIlroy has already said he won’t ever play a LIV tournament and he is rich enough as it is… am sure Henderson is the same.

On the other side of the coin, Henderson’s move brings the topic to the front and centre, and with a lot of this having it very visible across the world can lead to change… look at SA and Apartheid… so some good could come out of it still.

Finally… we’re all beneficiaries of PIF… some folks might have washed their hands, imagine some have, but if we can conveniently set aside any concerns about the politics and beliefs in Saudi then we’re also being hypocritical of Henderson… and I get he has been an ambassador etc, so he might be a ‘bigger’ hypocrite, but we’re all guilty of the same crime even if to a lesser degree.

Yea, Andy, we have the same in Brazil with the Indian reservations. They’re after more and more land.
I think it’s wrong. Who has the right to decide at what point in history you decide that a certain people owned a certain piece of land. Look at the UK: Picts, Britons, Vikings, Saxons, Romans the French and probably many more owned the islands at one time. Who gets claim then? My origins go back to the Celts, should I be on Princes Street with a placard?
Surely ‘we’ are all Australians or Brazilians whatever the origin and should be treated as such these days. Any other treatment will only fuel racial divisions and hostility.
Perhaps the biggest irony is that these people defending the ‘cause’ of the indians actively promote the causes of ethnic minorities in society in the present day, thus completely contradicting themselves - it’s quite laughable and show themselves up to be nothing but racist.

I always hear that question from the PFJ in that the Monty Python film "What have the Romans done for us?" in these discussions about empires etc Think it sums it nicely for me.

An interesting thing I saw the other day also made me think. Jordan Peterson says he has been claimed by Muslims, orthodox Jews and Christians as theirs yet he subscribes to none of the 3. I guess being human wuth decency is ingrained in us all and supercedes all religions and beliefs - call it conscience if you want and I think that although I may not agree with your opinion I believe in your right to express it. The woke brigade can be as oppressive with their perceived extreme views and as someone with far left/right/religious perceived extreme views IMO.

What I think I am trying to say is theres a middle ground snd extremists either way are the problem.

I'm not so sure if this gender thing is not partially mental, the husband of one of my daughters decided to become a woman when my daughter was in a coma for a month in hospital. When she come too There he was wearing a woman's dress and with full makeup.

He is a body builder but has never worked claiming he has a bad back,so looks nothing like a woman. After two years of being a woman I have heard he is thinking of being a man again. His daughters don't want to know him and stay away as their kids did not know wether to keep calling him grandad.

I think I am the one who will end up with mental problems when it's okay for a school to let young kids choose their own gender even allowing one girl to choose to be a cat.

What about the bloke in Scotland who demanded to be called a woman and use the ladies toilets even though he was a convicted rapist.

Western society, Tops, has been forced to adopt a "guilt consciousness" thanks to the left-wing, socialists, radicals and greens. All I hear in my own country is this "welcome to country" coming from the mouths of aboriginals claiming to be the 'original land-owners'. Captain James Cook colonised this country more than 200 years ago, and I am sick and tired of these descendants from the caves, clamouring for more and more and more. We give them 40 billion a year, and have given back nearly half the country back to them, the 3% who live in Australia.

There is a vote coming later in the year for "THE VOICE", in which aboriginals will be able to have more of a voice, and hundreds more public servants will be employed to run more USELESS and CORRUPT organisations collecting "the rent" as they like to call it. They will have more rights, more privileges, pensions, you name it, than non-aboriginal people. There was name for this in South Africa, it was called APARTHEID.

I will be VOTING NO to this terrible legislation, but I would not be surprised if the voting system is totally rigged, and they change the westminister constitution anyway.

That is truly frightening. Reminds me of Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe.
The difference between Zim, South Africa and, dare I say it, Australia and other (African) countries not colonized by north Europeans is the development over the centuries made by these colonizers. That is an indisputable fact.
This is conveniently forgotten of course - it’s time people woke up (if you’ll excuse the pun!).

Zimbabwe’s economy has gone down the pan since. Don’t be surprised if yours does too if all this goes ahead.

Our economy is already going down the toilet. This is what happens when you paint anybody that is not one of the original 'Land Owners' an INVADER. Countries like the United States, to the best of my knowledge, are not apologising 24 hours a day to the Native American Indians. Australia has become an absolute joke since covid began, and the cost of living has soared to the point where many, many people will become bankrupt - the main cause, signing up to the greatest fraud of the 21st century, NET ZERO. We are trashing our coal and gas, in favour of the useless wind turbines and solar panels, which will NEVER be able to power up the country, and the cost is in the TRILLIONS. Yet, the hypocrites who run the country, are happy to sell ALL our resources such as coal and gas to CHIONA, so that they have nice, cheap, reliable electricity and heating for the citizens, whilst RIPPING OFF the population in Australia. 50% off the population are like sheep, too fu(king dumb, to realise what's happening around them. Sad days indeed.

Mate, I hear you. Here we’ve just elected a convicted criminal as President (left wing: Lula) who was only released from jail on a technicality. He’s increased the number of Ministries to 37 from 23 basically to buy votes and give ‘jobs for the boys’. Highly embarrassingly he’s had Maduro (the Venezuelan dictator) on a state visit and described his human rights atrocities as a ‘bad narrative’. Lula also just got married before becoming President and has managed to spend 6 million dollars of tax payers money on international travel in 6 months (all the while bull *****ing on about how many starving people there are in the country). Basically he’s on a free, extended honeymoon.

All this in just 6 months. We are f*cked.

Perhaps the UK isn't such a bad place to be in after all, following reading the last four posts from Toonozandy and TopToon
