If Farage were to stand up for these people and groups - if he had done so at the time, indeed - I would be impressed.

In the meantime, Farage could just take the NatWest account he's been repeatedly offered...
I have to say you’ve turned something that you’ve posted about a journalist reporting on a story that was not related to Farage from 2015 , into a Farage bashing, not vey balanced but just as biased, but just a post to highlight your prejudices. As they say ‘there’s none as intolerant than those that preach intolerance themselves’

On another note of tbe original topic, seems more people ‘are coming out’

Well, yes, I'm worried and have been for some time (which is why I posted about the HSBC issue). People should have guaranteed access to at least basic bank accounts.

At the same time, as long as not being discriminatory in a broader sense, I think it's incredibly dangerous for government to tell private companies who they can and can't do business with. A pub shouldn't be able to say "no Irish" but it should be able to ask a specific Irish guy to leave.

They don't say that, because it would be rubbish. What they actually say is that "in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must retain the right to be intolerant of intolerance".

I also don't claim to be even-handed with regards to Farage. It's also not prejudice. I'm judging him AFTER his actions, not before them.

I try to base my views on evidence - and as I was clear, I'll change my views if the evidence changes - but I'm not a journalist and I'm not required to be either neutral or impartial. I think Farage has done great damage to the country. I think he's grifting. And again, he's not even unbanked. But if he starts to campaign for those actually unbanked in the country - Muslims and ex-prisoners as two significantly affected groups - I will genuinely be impressed.

Farage has just started a website to help people who have been de-banked. No mention of any discrimination, certainly non partisan, as reported in The Guardian no less. It really seems to have p*ssed them off as he is now being seen as a 'peoples champion', which some would argue he has been for a while.

If Farage can help people who struggle to access banking services, I'll applaud his efforts.
