Technology has advanced since the 1970's. You can get all in one now. But maybe not in Arbroath

We still need some additions, as we are definitely light on the bench. I don't think the academy players can be relied upon if we have a few injuries so we definitely need a decent back up striker and winger at least.

I agree. I noticed that Cudjoe found himself out of position on occasion. But he's worth persevering with as he has some good attributes. I'm delighted he got a goal at long last. Let's hope he learns to make a habit of it now.

It was a good finish to beat that 'keeper who had pulled off a few good saves early on.

BBC gave Moult MotM, but i think Sibbald, and shock horror, McMann could feel very hard done by.

Thank feck we have a keeper, a midfielder who went about his work so quietly he was largely anonymous, and an attack that seems to have gelled quite well already. Thing is though, Moult gave an air of fragility about his injuries when interviewed, then the Gaffer came in and mentioned there were still some fitness concerns to be addressed. If those concerns are connected to Middleton and Watt, then as long as they contribute to the game as they did tonight, then i could take that if they provide a base as they did. However, there are games ahead where they may need to get to 75 mins as im not yet sure that there are substitutes good enough to hold a lead in a tighter game.

Great win, even some entertainment and apparent there is more to come when fitness levels improve!

It is only one win, and while i see a few draws on tomorrows card, we need to be better next week v the Pars.

Strong, composed, dynamic and exciting. Could certainly watch that every week. What an environment to give young players opportunities too. Strength and structure with some expressive play around it.

Not kidding myself that it will always be this way, but lots of encouragement and many reasons to be cheerful.

We don't know how good Arbroath are, as we gave them no chance to play, but that is still a statement result

Three assists and a goal, and overall link up play really good. Nah, for once the Beeb got this one correct.

Thought Moult spoke really well post match. Full of praise for the way the club have handled him.

This game was selected for TV to get the new season under way with a giant killing at Gayfield. For a change one of this country's most loyal set of football fans were treated to a display they deserved and by halftime the EBC viewing figures had plummeted through the floor,FACT with a WASC.

Its been a long time since i ended my main paragraph in that fashion.
