Could be worse. Could be a Derby fan. Comments on their Twitter feed like “he’s got 6 games”
    “Out of his depth “
“Should be hunting for a new manager “
“Bobble hat man turns into a shiite Manager”
“You need to go as Division 2 beckons”.

As our beloved Chuckle Brothers would say -
    “Oh Dear Oh Dear”.

As I say, there’s always someone worse off.

From listening to i-follow I can tell you things Les Payne dredged up from the depths of RUFC history and where I could stick pins in a world map for locations of the listening faithful - but not a lot about the match itself.

I sense the players were as disengaged as the commentators and everybody was resting between performances.

The previous reserve matches I followed were more interesting.

In a sense I don't really care that we didn't acquit ourselves particularly well. I just feel we can do better when we have some skin in the game (and with the long-promised reinforcements - of course.)

Not the game for looking for scapegoats.

He looked like a less mobile Richard Wood.

Woody actually looks the more useful of the two.

You know what? It has that feel to it so far. Hopefully I'm very wrong and we go on to have an upturn in form but so far we've beaten a half decent sheff utd team and they are obviously weaker than last year themselves.

Would hate to be a blade at the moment.

Morrison sorry to say looks like he won't get over his long time out injured. Positive from last Dext at right wing back after finding his feet early on he looked a threat going forward. McCart was steady. Only way to get Fred match fit it's by playing him. If we don't get a forward in for Saturday play Wiles behind Hugill.

    Blackburn game 3-5-1-1

    Victor

    Humphreys Blackett McCart

    Dext Cafu Odoffin Rathbone Fred

    Wiles

    Hugill

It’s like watching a poor film you lose interest after 15-20 mins & not really bothered how it ends. If this is the best of our squad it could be all over by Christmas. We will not score enough to survive.

I agree entirely yes we are frustrated with recruitment but to start singling out players after 2 games is just stupid.
    Things can change quickly.
Last night we weren’t really out of second gear and the most positive thing apart from progressing was working on match fitness.

My frustration last night was our lack of ambition when distributing the ball from the back. The game was crying out for width but rather than our wingbacks presenting themselves wide to receive the ball from Phillips, everyone gathered in a space the size of a postage stamp to receive a 50/50 long boot up field. Surely, against L2 opposition we should back ourselves to be a bit more creative!?

Apart from that, I thought McCart did well and Blackett was decent. Dex and Fred will do a job for us but we desperately need some firepower up front. Oh, and can we please practise deadball crossing - George must have been pulling his hair out, metaphorically, as numerous crosses sailed feet over his head and out of play.

Pies were good but no cash, card only - surely not!

Young dickheads, it was like a youth centre in car park at full time
