Solution: double the tax take from everyone to pay for to remedy all underfunding. It occurs to me that currently UK plc gets the central services it wants to pay for.

Problem: the prevailing attitude in this country is that we all want enhanced services as long as they are free to us - ie if someone else pays for them.

Outcome: resourcing slowly dissipates either through inflation or wastage. Expenditure is focussed on what is "trendy" rather than what is necessary and services start to fail.
