I think in January the club needed a striker desperately and Hugill on a long term contract was a desperate act, one that in the short-term paid off. However, we now have a player that is capable of doing a job at this level, if he adapts his approach, but he shouldn't be our first choice striker, he is a good one to have in a team of four forwards. I feel for Eaves, he made a bad decision coming back to Rotherham, he is at a stage in his career where what ability he had has long ago been left behind and because we had him for a very bad loan, the fans would only support him if he made an impact quickly. He should get himself a loan this week to a L1 team. Kayode cannot play down the middle and might be able to be brought throught playing wide in a 3, but he is a long way from that now. kelly is not the answer.
Hugill is an MT man and therefore given every opportunity to fail, repeatably. Regarding budget, we did have money for the wages of a goalscorer but we wasted a lot on 3 CBs that are at the end of their careers and have a history of injuries. That was an MT gamble, and one I think we will regret over the season. Thank god none of them have long contracts. We should have taken 1 out of 3 and brought cover in on loan.

No no three times no! 2 in midfield at home we'd be adrift at the bottom of the table by xmas! Did you go to Morecombe game Bramall if this is possible he's worse at left wing back than he his at left back his crossing was abysmal. 4-5-1 in games we're trying not to lose. 4-3-3 in home games we can win.

I think you make a good point there Gru, we can't play 4-4-2 in the championship we would get slaughtered

    10 goals and he's worth 800k?

No from me. If we've got 5/800k we should be looking at the below... Rather than those at higher clubs with no real experience.

Danny Mandroiu at Lincoln - Basically a Frecks type player in the making and knows Kelly.

Tyler Goodrham - Oxford. Young, hungry, consistently scoring.

He's at Wimbledon, not MK Dons.

This was a story a week or so ago, us and Barnsley were reported as being interested. Wimbledon were said to be wanting £1 million for him.

I hear comments about other clubs 'over valuing' their players - ever thought we may be out of kilter by 'under valuing' our players perhaps?

Sam Nombe's name is coming up again on some sites.
Obviously MT knows him well so there may be some credibility in this one.
