I played on Peebles golf course back in July 1979. A friend who worked in the Bank of Scotland Peebles branch was a member of Peebles Golf Club.

8&7 victory today, on fire literally, lead by 2 going into final day.

Cardonna golf course very tough 131 from normal pegs.

For those interested you might get final day on your firestick. 😁

Does your handicap not get cut, or rather when does your handicap get cut?

Handicap can go up or down every game.

In Scotland people used to get their handicap cut after each round of a golf competition but with the rules now allowing people to putt on the greens with the pin in and there is no stroke penalty when a golfer accidentally grounds his club in a sand bunker anything is possible.
In my opinion the R and A are making the rules too easy. The biggest mistake the golfing authorities made was when they ended the rules that male golfers with a handicap of 4 or less no longer had to play 40% of their rounds in golf competitions on golf courses other than their home course to maintain their handicap.
As a result of this change in the rules low handicap golfers became ‘one course wonders’ as they only played in golf competitions on their home golf course resulting in them having a very low handicap.
Scratch golfers used to be rare in Scotland but now they are ten a penny.
