Mata, Kyut, Balotelli, Messi, Drogba even Ronaldo are amongst the exceptionally well paid and influential players who are known to do something to "give back" and I'm sure many other lesser paid footballers also support and donate to various charities and causes but agreeing to play in Saudi and not to use any portion of those wages to help fight the repressions of such a regime or, at the very least, help charities elsewhere seems to me rather morally bankrupt. How much money does one person need?

I know that there are plenty of other sectors which have mega rich individuals aside from business owners/ financiers whether that be film or music stars but the amount of money swilling around the higher echelons of football at the moment is sickening. I know that football is as much a business as a sport but really think that the money is starting to kill the game now as comparatively little filters down to grass roots and it is certainly not the popular sport of the working classes it once was.
