Mvhr does however have a down side.
They only lower the temp by 5 or 6 degree from the outside temp. So if it's 30deg outside the room will only be 24-25 Deg. On a plus note they are way more efficient and the noise levels are about 25-35 decibels.
Airco get a lot lower temps but on a down side run at 45-50 decibels and you get blasts of cold air not a constant room temp.

    It's all about air movement.
Mvhr are 0.8 -1.5 per hour.
    Aircons 2-4 per hour

Cayton mines spot on and not noisy at all, in or out of the house. Plus side, the rooms are like walking into a fridge after only a few minutes.

Can't see the point of Mvhr if it only lowers the temp 5 -6 degrees lower than outside? You're just circulating warm air???

Cayton thanks for the response, we have a positive air ventilation system installed from new by the builders, this is great in the winter but not so good in the summer. As far as I cam tell it pulls fresh air into the hall way forces the stale air out. Very noticeable in the cooler months but not in the summer.

Not sure why the builder would fit a Pav systems in a new house. They are are great for houses with damp/condensation problems but new builds are too airtight for them to be effective, most new builds now are fitting the mechanical ventilation systems. I've never installed one but hear some great things from folk who have them.
as you mentioned you don't get the cold chill like you do with Pav plus if you get the full package which Inc the chiller unit you get summer and winter control

Not knocking AC brin just imo there's a different solution That is beneficial all year around not just for the 4 or 5 weeks it's to hot to sleep

I guess another advantage is you can get all rooms to the lower temps not just the room the AC is in and also have clean air in the winter when the windows are closed plus if you dry clothes on rads the condescension is removed

Cayton thanks, I am going to check out the system we have got fitted as it may well be the mechanical ventilation system and I may be able to upgrade to the chiller unit. I will let you know on here

Cayton thanks for your comments I have now checked out the system we have installed and it is a nuaire dri-eco3s-heat-hc system. Can a chiller unit be fitted to this? Any thoughts or comments are welcome Thanks again

Sorry m8. I've only just seen your post.
No the system you have is a piv system with a built in heater. Still not sure why the builder would fit one of those in a new build unless there's some eco regs that I'm not aware of that allows it to meet code.
Be aware that that setup you have has a filter setup that needs yearly replacing. Some have a reusable filter that just needs a clean.
