    Two great signings

Really pleased that Tabs and Calum Agius have signed new contracts.
Calum was only 18 a few days ago, so really impressed.
Was expecting Tabs to be bought by one of the 'bigger' clubs in the summer. His improved/extended contract is very good business by the club.

Whatever they have been putting in the players tea at half-time - someone must have put some of it in the Board's coffees me thinks ...

Doesn’t mean he won’t move in the summer, or at any other time whilst still in contract.

That's correct, but we will get a fee for him! And that's the most important thing in this as it gets us away from the Wintle, Lowery contract running down days. If that continued the whole club would fold.

Since the board is unchanged, I put it down to the management team and the obvious enthusiasm, commitment and honesty shown by LB to his players.

I am sure Lee Bell and his management team have some input in whether to extend or offer contracts to players but I suspect all negotiations will be done by the board and that will always have been the case regardless of who the manager is.

Again, you're totally correct Timmy, it's just that there seems to have been a sea change back to the whole Crewe ethos of keeping young players until its the right time for them to go and those players appreciating this and being prepared to sign contracts to protect the club.
The membership of the Board hasn't changed for a number of years, so presumably their outlook hasn't changed, but something is now persuading our best young talent to sign 3 year plus deals once again. It certainly won't be money!! I just think a lot is down to LB, who most of the kids will have grown up alongside.

There have been changes on the board in the last couple of years but I think you are right, I am sure LB and his management team will have a significant input into the decisions both on who, how long and probably les so in how much. Whatever it is down to it is pleasing to see.
