    Truss

The wannabe Maggie is at it again. She has a new book/treatise coming out detailing her views on how to get Britain booming again. It seems that she and her "think tank" cronies havent changed her pitch though as most of her ideas still seem to involve enabling the rich to get richer whilst ensuring the poor get poorer under the already dog eared guises of deregulation being the key to economic growth and the mindless assertation that those who work hard will reap their rewards.

Currently stories circulating that she is going to contact Sunak and advize him to cut taxes, cut benefits and raise the retirement age again. After her brilliantly successful 44 days in office, I'm sure he will listen to her. As Lib Dem deputy, Daisy Cooper commented "Liz Truss giving a speech on economic growth is like an arsonist giving a talk on fire safety".

I was never a fan of Thatcher because she did too much damage to many and lacked empathy but I also recognize that she had strength and ability and that her policies also enabled opportunities for many others to improve their lives. This is why she is such a divisive character. Truss, on the other hand, is another thing entirely. She opens her gob and I just want to smack her. Awful woman with awful ideas.

She’s a deluded narcissist if she can possibly think that anyone will listen to anything she has to say.

I agree with what Tory Anna Soubry said on SKY last night, we just need the end of this rabble as soon as possible and a period of Labour government.

The Tory’s need a 1997 style beating to lead them into starting again from scratch, they’ve completely lost the plot.

A massive “U”turn from me I know but with Starmer looking to change our trading situation with the EU I’m willing to give him a chance.

Its just the Tories are and have been so bad, that any semi competent leader of Labour should win a majority here. And Starmer is semi competent. He can't be as bad as these clowns in office.

And as for Truss, it does not surprise me one bit that she does not accept any responsibility at all for not listening to the OBR or any impartial/responsible financial body and then nearly crashing the markets.

One more thing...these opaquely funded think tanks like the IEA should be nowhere near talk shows or the media. For all we know Putin is funding them to push his narrative and to weaken our economy, if he did it sure worked well!

The thing with Starmer is that if he had ANY backbone or spunk in him he would have trounced the Tories a long time ago

Instead he is just waiting and he will win the next election on absolutely zero merit

It won’t be that Labour will win the next election but that the Tories will lose it!

Starmer never comes out with anything original and remains perched on a fence! Very sad - I don’t vote as they are all useless and looking to fill their own pockets!

Not sure how you expect for him to 'trounce' them without having a general election?

And he took over with Labour 20 points behind in the polls and is now 20 ahead. I mean, that is an achievement in itself. He has made Labour electable again after the debacle that was Corbyn.

Starmer is so uninspiring, with the charisma of a dead fish. The only way people will vote for Labour is if they dislike the Conservatives even more. In reality, none of them are worthy of being voted into government. The Conservatives haven’t exactly covered themselves with glory but then I look at who is in the Labour ranks and ‘OMG’! Incompetence levels could rise even beyond what we have seen with this lot.

If Starmer wins it would purely be because how bad the Tories have been.
As said before, the Tories could really if they want to stay in power that they reverse Brexit as if we were back in it - and they may even use Penny for this. Sunaks days are numbered and something tells me he’ll be gone before the next election.. to deliberately make way for someone that will fair better at a general election. Before anyone says yes I know you vote your local MP.

They'll have to go some to be more incompetent than this lot. You're asking a lot
