It’s about time this lame duck of a competition was scrapped or redesigned so that it went back to league one and league two clubs and maybe bring in the national league clubs. Then the winner gets a by to the third round of the FA Cup or something? For me it would have more meaning then.

That is a really good idea - a meaningful prize, a chance for NL teams to measure themselves against L1 and 2 clubs and no hackneyed force fitting academy teams in to suit the whim of the premiership clubs. That could be a decent competition.
