Some of our worse players were here before, its called inheriting a squad with players on more than a 1 year deal. It takes a few years to have a squad that is fully signed by the the current manager in charge.

Surely that applies to all managers but most don't get the time to construct their ideal squad.
Also, based on MT's signings to date, he's going to be faced with a major rebuild next summer if he's still here, because we have several players (sicknotes?) on one year contracts and several loanees who will go back to their parent clubs.

Lessons learnt? Last home game plenty we're saying this is some of best football they've seen. Goal at Sunderland came after great team play passing the ball, not just hitting crosses to a 6'3 striker. We competed with a team in the PL last year asnd unlucky not to take a point.
Is this not an improvement in our football style?

No point reviewing after 15 games, if we struggle to remember more than 2 games back.

So if he's capable of doing that by design... what's the excuse for these games? Stoke (x2)...Sunderland... Huddersfield...Millwall.. in each game we looked to be as well organised as a post pint pub team.

A poor tradesman doesn't survive by building one good wall out of 40.

It’ll be a rebuild for a few seasons or even longer, trying to establish a championship club with less money than most isn’t for the faint hearted and anyone that keeps us in the championship gets my applause

They were last season at this stage but finished up in the playoffs.
They have far more quality than we do and will inevitably finish above us.

They might’ve a bit of a rocky start but they were not bottom of table.

No complaints from me about our home form this season, we've played great. I think most people accept we'd should probably have had 7 points instead of 4 from the home games if it wasn't for factors beyond our control. But the away form is so far removed from the home form it's baffling. Apart from a decent start at Sunderland this season so far we've offered nothing away from home, you just know as soon as we go a goal down we may as well pack up and go home. While the style has been good at home, when we're away it looks like the team have never even met each other. 11 goals conceded in 4 games (17 in 5 if you include the cup game at Stoke) and it could easily have been double.

Fair enough, away from home we have probably been worse this year than last.

Do we just want to go away, and set up for a draw as that is what we did before under Warne. We then tried last game 352, and we didnt have the players or conviction to do that either. Maybe we just play same 433 / 451 home and away then players know what they are doing.

TBF thats been same for a while with a few extra sick notes this time. As we are known to be a YoYo team, not many players want to commit more than a yr to then end up in L1 (or we dont want them more than a yr), and then when in L1 most of players aren't good enough for championship. Each yr we take on 5 loan players, last yr we took on 1 extra.

Isn't he just saying that in the early part of the season, as the team forms and faces different formations, that we seem to do well against ST and not well against UT. And therefore the obvious continuation that I think is too obvious for him to need to say it, is that we have to adjust the team going forward to perform better in adapting between ST and UT. I don't think he's concluding that this state of affairs is simply being accepted by him and will remain that way so teams can all play unstructured and roll us over.

Surely he's just pointing out an emerging problem that he has to now deal with. You seem to present it as if he's saying that's all we can do and he's accepted that we're stuck with it!

So we have to improve massively to survive. What are few are asking is what have the happy gang seen that we haven’t to make you believe that will happen?

Happy gang isn’t name calling, my god how pathetic. Instead of dealing with the points people raise or questions asked, let’s do the classic and accuse people of calling people names, to deflect away from the issue. If it offends you so much to be referred to as someone that is happy and in a group of others labelled a gang, then I apologise to you. I am sure you can have a really interesting discussion about it with your therapist next week.

Yep, and with a squad worth 60 million
Including Barlaser who I think has only managed 2 league starts this season.
