That performance is how I recognise the way we play.
Russell MOM in my opinion and scoring the goal of the night.
The French lad starting to find his feet at this level.
On to Saturday and please no tinkering.

Good night's work , promising signs , first time I've seen us this season working to some kind of tactical plan with the right players out there to execute it .

You could argue Cambridge weren't great but for the first half hour they were chasing shadows .

Hopefully the HC can see his best side and system emerge tonight .

Make random changes on Saturday ?

You wouldn't Mr Collins would you ..... ?

Having thought about it a bit, I really think they can't afford to wear the home kit because they can't get them? I agree Dingle it's awful but they can't stock the club shop with it, so it makes sense they haven't got enough for the players?
Tonight was exactly how we should be putting teams away in this division, high tempo and quick closing down, made Cambridge make errors and we dragged them all over the place to create space.
Watters needed that goal, I'm hoping he goes on a run now! Cadden MOM by a mile.
Williams passing tonight was atrocious mind!
We need to turn our away form into home form now! If we do we could p1ss this league on that performance.

Better - but still not fast enough moving forward IMO.
Example - Williams on 09:34 driving forward.
    Which was great to see.

Still slowing down when it reaches Kane and Watters.
I just don’t think Kane is suitable for the Barnsley style.
    These two need subbing.

    Cadden currently MOTM.
    Russell playing well.
Cole putting a lot of work in.

    Cambridge looking good going forward.
    But poor defensively.

    Enjoyable 1st Half 👍
    2nd Half
    Notes.

Again Cambridge looking good going forward.
If they had someone who could score they would do well.
They will be an hand-full for most teams this season.
Which puts this result into context.

We have players that if they start to work as a unit can dominate this league.
And it showed again in patches against Cambridge.

Still a huge whole in the middle of midfield that Collins believes one player can fill - they can’t.
Even though Barnsley have fortunately a class player in Russell sitting in there.
This huge gap is putting pressure on our defence.
Some supporters saying we have a dodgy defence - we haven’t - we have a leaky midfield.
I’m still trying to work out what Kanes role in the team is - is he an holding midfielder or is he an attacking midfielder???

Other than that - an enjoyable watch.

Not the best tackler, but his quick passing is accurate. I like him

Excellent result & performance especially the midfield in the first half where Kane , Russell & Styles completely bossed it , Kane surely has to be the first name on the sheet , he drives us forward & always look for the pass & was unlucky not to score with a fantastic run into the box off the ball coupled with excellent skill he fashioned a chance out of nothing , Styles was always available & probed all night long & provided a good assist whilst Russell had his best game crowned with a fantastic strike. A clean sheet tonight gives us something to build on going to Exeter & we keep trying to improve our defensive unit , Cambridge had thier moments & on another day might have got a spot kick then on another year we might get one but overall you have to be pleased with everything tonight.

Good solid performance tonight, on to Exeter now who had one of their main players Aimson sent off tonight! We owe them one for last season.

Well done to Neill and Jon's team. Didn't see the game so I base my view on the positive comments on here.

Although presently inconsistent it does seem we are in for another top ten finish in the Third Division. A good number of the other top ten also won tonight so it could well be another season where a big divide develops between the top clubs and the rest.

Exeter and Leyton Orient away should hold no fears for Neill and Jon's confident and rampant Men's outfit.

    # Go Well Neill and Jon's rampant Men's outfit.
