Gone are the days I trust when we had an ageing squad and we’d spend ever and a day on here complaining that no replacements were being lined up. We have now some very good young players, many inexperienced at PL level but with lots of potential to improve. The downside is the “butchers bill” will need to be paid somewhere down the line so we will be selling the pick of them. For the short term we could do with picking up a few points off one or two big clubs to go with points gained from the so-called lesser teams near the foot of the PL. We do not have a good record against Chelsea in recent seasons but we are unlikely to face the aerial bombardment that was the second half at Kenilworth Road. Picking up our first home point or points of the season against the Blues would be most welcome.

I feel for Cullen a bit really as his game is possession based ie we need the ball - I don’t think cullen will shine until we maybe play an extra man centrally and trust the wide boys to get up and support Foster.

Berg is similar to Cork a decent footballer but in transition gets lost for pace - spurs and Villa exploited us for that reason ( he’s the right build not sure he’s quick enough that’s all).
Spot on Army. Cork might be okay for the last 10 mins of defence but that is all. Sadly Berge is just too slow for the EPL

I think you are right Sinkov. Amdouni has something special which will become apparent I believe, just a matter of time as you say

What's this obsession about the need for speed in a midfield player? Berge ran the game at Kenilworth Road, Cullen was picking passes all night and nutted one off the line to boot. Neither of them look particularly slow to me.

Our problem at the moment is not getting our wingers tracking back and picking up runners but this is how VK plays and this perceived lack of pace in midfield is just not worthy of debate IMHO.

Is anyone seriously suggesting Josh Brownhill lacks pace?

We will miss him when he leaves for nowt on a free in June.

Nobody is suggesting that Brownhill is slow BT but Berge and Cork definitely are and it is obvious that the midfield would be much improved
with more dynamic players. I agree , Brownhill will be sorely missed if we are stupid enough to let him go in June. Berge had a good game
at Luton because they gave him all the room in the world.

Formation wise I'm not sure how it's going to pan out. There are issues opposition dependant and we just scraped the Luton one.
I watched Villa tonight and realised the Matty Cash problem wouldn't have existed had Charlie Taylor been selected.

We must track the runners but how we set up there is no chance.

I will be watching with close intent how the "slow-coaches" in our midfield compete against the likes of Conor Gallagher Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo. May the better footballers win.

Charlie seems a fixture at left-back now, so that's one problem solved, you have to wonder why it took Vinni so long to see the bleedin obvious though, what was that all about ?

Same with Annas Zaroury. Unlike SD Kompany does not do loyalty.

Muric cast off like an old sock, Egan Riley not getting a game, I reckon if get on the wrong side of Vinny you are toast.
