Not only have we been on the end of bad decisions but Swift is now out for six weeks. He’s been our best player this season so the way our luck is going it was odds on that he’d get an injury. Surely our bad luck must end soon!
We’ve done exceptionally well considering all that has happened, Corberan is some manager, just gets on with it and here we are just three points off 4th place without a striker. Swift is a blow but I remember when Pareira was injured and we wondered how much we might suffer and ended up going on a good run without him. I don’t think Corberan dwells on a negative for more than a few seconds but just gets on with alternatives. If there isn’t one he creates one. We are in good hands.
Pereira was rarely injured for us. From memory his longest spell out of the team was three games following a red card in the Prem'. Biggest problem we've got now isn't the injury to Swift so much as the lack of genuine depth in quality. It is however Sod's Law that he's injured now he's contributing as much as originally hoped for.
Good positivity boingy buddy !
I see us as a mid table Championship side at present and top six certainly not out of the question. A lucky play off victory would provide no extra excitement, as clearly the current squad would be slaughtered in 90% of the matches.
Despite some poor performances we (SWMBO & I) still enjoy going to the Saturday home matches looking to accentuate the positives !
Undoubtedly a change in ownership will provide additional us with motivation.
Here’s hoping!
Tend to agree with a lot of that. Of course, going up would mean getting some much needed money but we'd only have a pretty c rap time of it before inevitably being relegated again so far more preferable to get some money via a new owner and re-build.
On the plus side, December might see us with full squad options -may actually have Dike, Maja, Swift and Sarmiento all available!
Can you imagine, Dike back in the team on Boxing Day, back in the treatment room on New Years Day?
What would be good, though, is if Tom Fellows takes his chance and comes really good, I hope Carlos gives the lad that chance.
