Yep, nice gifted technical savvy player.
At 5'6" his frame at times was fragile & he did suffer many injuries sadly, particularly to his knees.

Always enjoyed visits to Norwich, nice place & decent old style 27,000 atmospheric stadium. So the club must be a boost to its local economy alongside its beautiful Norfolk locality despite having been relegated from the PL a record 6 times !

Reading financials of them taking out £66m of loans - just shows the precarious financial tightrope Norwich City are walking for sure, if they don't go up.

A £43.9m loan had been secured against future media rights, broadcast revenue, and is fully repayable in March 2024.
This particular loan is slightly different in the sense that it is dependent on the Canaries regaining promotion to the top flight.

A £22.6m loan was taken out against future contracted receivables, for example transfer funds that have been paid in instalments, so serve as an advance payment on guaranteed funds that the club will receive regardless of division.

Even though the latest accounts 2021/22 imply there was a debt of £66m, cash in hand of £4.8m at yearly earnings, it's perhaps more accurate to suggest that the net debt sits at £49.1m.

Norwich entitlement to parachute payments i suppose will be used to help ease the burden created by that debt in the short term but this season will be crucial for them.

Does Norwich have the potential to sell out to a wealthy buyer?

Football financial ‘logic’ often tends to be flawed and based around something often unlikely to happen (getting promoted, qualifying for Europe, winning something) actually happening with no regard to the fact the competing clubs are trying to do the same.

As with every game this season I have felt that we can win before kick off - last season I don't remember thinking that even once!!

Indeed Tichi - remember being at games last season where we were ahead and still deep down had a sense we would lose.

When we have our first choice team out have more of a sense that there are no weak links which makes a huge change compared to the last two seasons.

    Norwich line-up ?

Was glad to see Ashley Barnes will miss the game as he is a handful in midfield plus his gamesmanship antics can cause issues too.

But MacLean the central- midfielder will play. He was heavily linked to Leeds in the summer before he ended up signing a new long term contract at Norwich & stats heatmap show he appears to be a very steady ball carrier.

Apparently he's a budding Kalvin Phillips dropping deep to collect the ball before passing to team mates further up the pitch particularly danger men Sara & Rowe.

Also their ever present keeper Angus Gunn who was linked to us will play & he is no mug between the sticks stats wise either so he won't cave in easy under pressure.
But the majority of the goals that can be attributed to Gunn are possibly due to his frame bulk size which can contribute to poor technique when defending low shots as its difficult for him to get down onto them - so hopefully we can stretch the Norwich full-backs & get such shots in at him.

Difficult to predict who'll start for them as the starting 11 regularly gets changed personnel wise this season.

But Greek left-back Dimitris Giannoulis & left centre-back Ben Gibson are defo their weak link according to "all stats" on them this season - so suspect that'll be the areas we'll target from the off.
