    I've not seen Tipton play but it would surprise me if he was right footed simply because it would mean we recruited two right footed centre backs giving us right hand side cover with Bajrami ? Baldwin, brindley, rawlinson plus the two loanees.The left cover is Chicksen and Cameron.im surprised as it gives a massive squad imbalance and I thought our planning and recruitment was much, much more thoughtful than what has gone before.
    I hope he is left footed so we aren't hamstrung when playing out from the back down the left.!
    I think that covers the possible central positions?

    Hamstring injury. Scott has had another operation to repair his torn Knee ligament...

    Just replayed his interview from pre-season.
    He feels he can play all along the back 3. His preference is in the middle.

    The Wolves website article when he first came to Notts describes him as "The versatile defender, who can also play in midfield"

    Sutton fans described Randall as made of biscuits, ie always injured.

    Randall came back and was on the bench for a few games,often when you come back you then pick up another injury ? With his height he would probably be a welcome addition to the team
    When Randall is fit, it would allow JJ to play in the centre like yesterday which gives us more options and the front 3 can be rotated.

    He was WB yesterday but I agree I would definitely prefer him in the Mcgoldrick or Crowleys position a bit more.

    Looking back at Durhams' post, with 6 injured, 2 suspended which other 3 young uns can we put on the bench?
    With a bit of luck maybe Bostock and Brindley might be fit enough to play some role but if not we are in a bit of trouble.
    I know some will suggest that I am being too negative and that everything in the garden is lovely but I think we are on a bit of a tightrope.
    3 points against Newport could make a big difference come the end of the season.
    So which 3 youngsters should it be?

    You are too negative and worry a lot but I agree we are on a bit of a tightrope for the Newport game. Definitely stretched.

    Tightrope or not the Notts County FC garden is currently lovely, the most lovely it has been for a very long time.

    I know that there many on here who think that it doesn't really matter too much if Notts don't go up this season, but consider the following quote.

    “There is a tide in the affairs of men
    Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
    Omitted, all the voyage of their life
    Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
    On such a full sea are we now afloat;
    And we must take the current when it serves,
    Or lose our ventures.”

    I presume the thinking was that Cameron and McGoldrick wouldn’t/couldn’t play against Newport regardless?
