I thought the saying 'good players don't always make good managers' was decades old. It is ,but for some reason some people who have made a success of their lives to the extent that they are in a position to own a football club find the saying very difficult to understand! Gerrard at Aston Villa is a prime example. Unai Emery hardly had a career.
btw....Thomas Frank didn't even have a career!!
