In the match thread a post called Back Of Thet Nat asked whether MT should have been fired after the Coventry game - I posted on here at the time that he should - we have a squad that can win matches but a manager that keeps losing
MT should have gone at the end of last season when it was obvious that he couldn't do the job
He should have gone after Stoke (both times) and after Huddersfield, Millwall, Bristol, Cardiff etc etc

People say that we lack identity - that's not true, just about every away game this season has MT's stamp all over it....

Completely unacceptable performance. It should have been 4 or 5 nil against a team who haven’t scored in 10 hours of football. Defensively we were all over the place and going forward we were absolutely hopeless. Not a single shot on target. We offered NOTHING today.

With such a lack of effort, the level of disorganisation and the manner of that defeat, serious questions need to be asked over MT's ongoing tenure at this football club. First time I've said that this season but that performance today was a disgrace by any standard.

A quick word about the referee. Atrocious. Fell for everything the Wednesday players did. Their keeper was wasting time from 60 minutes onwards and it took him until the 93rd minute to book him for it.

As for saying not just the manager that s true, however this is football he is accountable for the results and if he can't get Rotherham players up for a game against Wednesday he shouldn't be the manager at Rotherham, those players were not up for it, the Wednesday players were and they deserved to win. Yes they are not a good team but I think we are the worst team in this league and i think if MT stays in charge in 4 weeks time the league table will show that.
    Great post DM, spot on

I see nobody in the whole team, never mind the starting 11 who fills me with any of that. We went down a similar road with Alan Stubbs and that was halted relatively quickly, but the damage had been done and took a long time to rectify.
I think this will take even longer.
That my friend is exactly how I feel. With the exception of Viking and possibly Rathbone there is no link between the manager and players and the supporters. I'm not sure it's lack of effort although today was terrible, it's more that most of our players can't trap a ball and play a short pass. Long ball after long ball even from Viking's hands. Lord knows how we fix it as a club because the quality we need we can't afford by a million miles. We'll remain a yoyo club unfortunately and enjoy the ride when times are better.

"Urban myths"? C'mon CAM, you can do better. Surely, if you're looking to recruit an older player you look at his history. If it shows a record of sustained injuries you have to ask some questions.

Admittedly cost plays an important role, but if you've set out your intention to recruit "Championship quality" you have to answer the criticism when it doesn't work.

That's probably the worst game of football from a Millers side i've seen for a long time. Weds looked a yard faster than us and wanted more. At 2-0 we were still in with a chance, it should have been 4 or 5 at H/T. I fail to see why we started with a set up what didn't work last time, and changed it after 30 mins. Appiah and Fred brought nothing to the game. If we're going with 2 up front, put Kelly on, not put Fred there.
Both goals started with up giving it away, something we are very good at.
.....We cant blame injuries, Ref's and bad luck all the time. I fear for his job, but who would come here?
The next game will be the crux, lose and play bad, he will go.

If we want to save our season we need to get rid of him and get in a proven championship manager, maybe Neil Warnock Is the man to manage us until the end of the season and then Rotherham can appoint a permanent manager from there.

One thing I've learned over the years when in the championship is that we have to bloody graft our tyts off to stay up and at least compete .

Once that workrate and desire drops and the squad aren't all on the same page we are in massive trouble which is what played out in our last championship season .

I watched Wednesday the other night at Plymouth and to be fair they played well for fourty minutes and the 3-0 flattered Plymouth in the end .

This new HC at Wednesday might just get them out of it through sheer graft and that bit of quality they do have with Bannan and Windass .

I don't believe for one minute that's the real Rotherham United I've just seen mind .

Money isn't going keep you in the league , hard graft will , that's down to the management and players and costs feck all .
