Try seasons 1980/81 through to 1987/88 when I finally moved up to the north east. I travelled just under 100,000 miles from Uxbridge to Burnley and several away games watching a struggling team playing mainly in the bottom two tiers of English football and fans are maoning about travelling to watch a Premier League team.
Thank God you never had to stand in the pi$$ing rain for 7 minutes while the VAR team argued about whether Jay Rod's toenail was offside. We were denied two stonewall penalties this VAR malarkey is completely ruining the game.

I will not be attending any more away games this season and please do not claim I am not a "true fan". I pay for 5 season tickets every season come rain or shine, my youngest grandson is a very unhappy Junior Claret (he would rather be winning in the Championship) but just what is going on in the heads of Pace and Kompany God only knows.

BT, I have made no secret of the fact that, along with the transfer window, VAR is the worst thing to be introduced into football.
However, it is no good moaning about being stood in the rain while VAR is being used because, sadly, it isn't going to get any better.

Your choice not to attend any more away games and it is also your choice that you pay for 5 season tickets, however, as a fan, don't moan about the fact that you have travelled to support your team playing in the Premier League (supposedly, the best Leagu in the world). Just accept it as being part of supporting the Clarets and get on with it --these are halcyon days and you are being entertained every week and our games have been averaging over 3 goals per game, which is what football is all about.
Fans moaned like hell about Sean Dyche and the lack of goals in matches and now they are still not happy. Last season there were only 2.65 goals per game scored in our 46 league matches ----far more this season, must be good.

Watching the Clarets getting hammered week in, week out is not my idea of "halcyon days" Supersub6. Watching Everton grind out a narrow 1-0 win at West Ham yesterday orchestrated by Sean Dyche is more my cup of tea.

My lad asked the question to a group of Burnley fans in the hotel late Saturday night, "do you think Dyche would keep us up with a spend of £140 million?"

The general consensus was, "Are you mad, of course he would".

Surely, as a football fan, you want to see goals being scored and that is what is happening regularly with the Clarets' matches.
Goals bring entertainment and that is what our fans were all moaning about with Sean Dyche's brand of football and were pleased that we got rid of him.
Great season last season under a new manager has soon been forgotten, even though he managed to gain promotion to "the best league in the world" according to many, therefore, these are indeed halcyon days because the club is playing at the peak of world football ----aren't they? In addition, fans are able to see lots of world class players that they would only see on TV.
Tell your grandson that he should enjoy watching these star players while he can because it won't last.

If you care (or dare) to read back a lot of mine and sinkov's post our constant theme was "be careful what you wish for".

The 2015 promotion winning team would paste this current lot and some of the football they played was sublime.

    I remain unconvinced about VK.

I still think he’ll sort it out BT - he may have to accept change to get there but he will sort it eventually.

In fairness we barely had a chance to judge VK and like the majority we’d all be on the band wagon he’s the messiah ( Vinny s won ten in a row ring any bells ).

This is the big boys league though and it was and I Never thought it would be easy as some did.

The lad deserves a chance a bit more than 11 games I think - we may get relegated but if he’s a man of his word and stays it should be an interesting ride in the next few seasons.

He needs to stop playing inexperienced kids in a tough, uncompromising league army88, the difference Jay Rod and Berge made was immense. Add Cork and Muric to the mix and we will be much better.

I honestly think BT That Trafford is not to blame what’s in front of him simply isn’t up to the job and not just the centre backs - right up to the midfield.

As for Jay rod can’t see the influence you say he had and Berge and immense don’t live in the same sentence together as decent as he maybe for short spells he has no pace and cannot play at this level.

I’d even go as far as to say that cullen is really struggling with the speed and physicality of this league ( he’s a neat and tidy footballer but he’s a cog in a big wheel and maybe the rest of the wheel is miles of the standard required.).

That’s cutting cullen a bit of slack in a team that can’t keep possession and his whole game is based on that - hence his 5!yellow cards and suspension.

I do not think I have witnessed a team that was so good regress so badly within three months.

My mate Billy the Toffee said we are the weakest EPL team he has ever seen. I cannot disagree.
