Hugill was dreadful today - after a commanding performance against Coventry he reverted to type with his eyes on the defender and wrestling instead of trying to win or control the ball. Playing Clucas advanced on the left was bewildering and Fred and Hugill just get in each others way on the right.

The major backlash we rightfully expected after the Hillsborough debacle was non existent. There was no composure, no one running into space to receive the ball and very little energy. That changed the moment Kelly was introduced. His first involvement won the foul from which he scored with his second involvement. A brilliant goal and an injection of enthusiasm which had been lacking before his introduction. His enthusiasm rubbed off on Nombe who was tenacious and had his best game so far.

We could have robbed QPR of all three points if MT had introduced Revan and even Appiah later on, but to bring on Eaves (who if I'm correct never touched the ball) was the sign of a desperate coach as opposed to a clear thinking strategist.

The two goals were worth the entrance fee but the intervening football gave me no confidence whatsoever that we have either the leadership off the pitch, nor the fight on it, to avoid the inevitable.
So harsh on Hugill when the 'service' was industrial to say the least.
