NYS New Tram Train stop

The running of Supertram services, infrastructure and finances will be controlled by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) when Stagecoach’s current contract for operation of the network ends next March.

SYMCA's transport vision includes extending tram/tram-train coverage across the Sheffield city region. New routes from Rotherham to Swinton and Doncaster.

A big funding gap on the original super tram network,and given the costs and problems of the installation from Meadowhall to parkgate of the train tram suggests the extension to Doncaster in my opinion is quite frankly for the birds…

Not been up in the area for ages so quite out of touch but what is tram/train? Does the tram go into a railway station where you disembark and change over to a train? Sorry if it appears to be a daft question but not heard of this before.

Come out of the station and then you walk to where the number 69 used to stop just down from the Hole int Road. I used it in the summer to get to Parkgate retail world. It's a good service.

Just a bit of extra info Wilts, in Rotherham it actually uses Rotherham Central Station. The platforms are slightly lower, a bit further down from the main train platforms.

No, same tram type as the Sheffield Supertram except it's been beefed up a bit to run on normal "mainline" rails.

It shares the track from Meadowhall to Parkgate with the regular train service.

Tram train current terminus at Parkgate is behind the shops.

Thanks for the answers. So out of touch I didn't realise the tram runs from Meadowhall to Parkgate now (where I used to work until 1969).
