How do you know he hasn’t got the tools to do the job ???
That’s like saying the conductor of an orchestra hasn’t got the musicians to do a job.
In other words - we won’t hear the quality of the music until a good conductor is in place.
Individually it’s plain to see these musicians are top two.
Have we ever had a musician start playing for us over the last few years that hasn’t played several duff notes ???
No we haven’t.
Mads is a fine example of that - when he first arrived at Barnsley he played more duff notes than a matured in the wood duff note player.
How do I know he hasn"t got the tools to do the job ? Blunketts dog can see as clear as day that the replacement players brought in for last seasons squad departures are nowhere near the finished article ,thus the squad is not as good as least years, now bearing in mind last seasons squad failed to go up even with a more experienced HC at the helm then how on earth do you expect this season to be an improvement ?
Came at him instantly and had no time to react other than get something on it in my opinion Florida .
My criticism of Killip which isn't necessarily his fault is that he lacks the presence and possible physical attributes , a keeper of more stature would have come for it and either punched it away or caught it .
Again this is down to recruitment , league one is a league of set pieces and you need physicality , presence and stature in abundance in the defensive ranks .
That is true to a certain degree.
We need Cundy or McCarthy in the team.
But to add to that we have central defenders that have been recruited not just as defenders but also to be comfortable with the ball at their feet and to drive forward at the opposition.
We have seen this regularly over the last few years.
But other than the 7-0 home win we only see it rarely these days.
Clearly Collins has stopped the players playing in a certain way.
We have young players - which brings both advantages and disadvantages.
Disadvantages includes naivety.
Advantages include the opportunity to develop the players for sale at a later date.
Also having young players brings with it HIGH ENERGY.
The style at Barnsley includes dominating the opposition with high energy.
But that high energy style of play has gone.
The style of football that overpowered the opposition has disappeared.
We have been left with a shadow of that - ponderous crab style boring football.
The only period where we looked our old self against Lincoln is when Collins went 343 - and in no time at all we scored 2 goals.
But even then Collins somehow managed to f**k it up by reverting back to 352.
I actually think with better players at his disposal the style of play he's trying to go with would suit us better going forward .
If we got promoted with players who can pass the ball , keep possession and are all comfortable we'd do very well in the championship rather than the hoof ball up to brainless meatheads which you prefer to describe as the Barnsley way .
Hopefully in January he gets the players he wants to play the way he wants .
