Don't really know what he was thinking TBH. 1st goal there was a pass the instant he got the ball. 2nd goal 100% pass to Stone with time available.

As good as he is technically the best players biggest asset is decision making and he certainly hasn’t covered himself in glory with that.
It can be coached to a certain extent but it’s more of an individual mental trait.

And that was his first balls up..But it seems that you are more than happy for him to keep making these errors.. There's only so much you can argue what he does and shouldn't do, but it's getting to be every game.

After he failed to pass the ball to Stone, in both instances, if his brain had been working instead of being befuddled with "possession" he would have put it in row Z. Better row Z than in the back of the net! Don't you agree?

Putting it into Row Z would have been a better option than what happened in either case!

Pretty much anything other than what was actually done on all 3 occasions would have been a better option. I was just getting over it as well and now you've reminded me.

Yep - instinct - and you can never re-create the pressure of matchday situations in training.

Getting players who can smell danger as well as having a skill set to use when appropriate is easier said than done. Every club will looking to improve in the transfer window, but for every club that does improve - league position wise - somebody else has to get worse.
There's a lot to be said to for having a small squad and sticking with the same players mid-season I think. In August you always hear talk of needing time to gel, yet in January players are expected to slot straight in and hit the ground running.

This is the 4th tier, players will make mistakes at this level and there's clearly a trade off in our case and we're still at a point where it's mostly paying off.
Last promotion season from this level we used 25 players, the season we came back down we used 46. They've got to be sure of an improvement to shake things up.

Just got back home after trip to Nottingham including this game.

I do not think I have ever been so dispirited after a Notts game. We have truly gifted Shrewsbury a third round tie. The defending is beyond bad. Are they being paid to throw matches??

    Seriously pi55ed off.
