At the moment I think Rwanda has probably had more visits from Foreign Secretaries than it has from any migrants/refugees. If you think it’s a good idea that’s your opinion. Mine is that it’s another in the long list of Government white elephants and the product of stubbornly callous minds entirely devoid of compassion and common sense.

As regards the Covid inquiry...I’ve never questioned the need for such an inquiry however all I’ve seen so far is an extraordinary amount of public money being spent on seeing apparently unaccountable politicians (many already disgraced) squirm and criticise each other. There must be a better way.

Be interesting to know what is happening in other countries as regards investigation and cost. I genuinely don’t know.
In view of the visiting foreign secretaries being of ‘immigrant stock’ (I guess such a description is a crime these days but hey ho) maybe they could have helped with the initiative by not coming back
