Don & Dearne Sports Association reformed in October 1973, implying that there were no Sports competitions organised throughout 1972-73.

A newspaper suggests that Rawmarsh Monkwood won the Totty Cup in 1973 (for the first time in their history), yet we have proof that they won it in 1972.

Credit for the reformation goes to the late Neil Randerson who called a meeting. Neil was chosen as secretary, Pete Cousins was Treasurer and Les Stone took on the role of Don & Dearne representative team manager with assistance from Geoff Oxer and Trevor Gargett.

Yes - this is what they are trying to verify but would like to get something from the 'horses' mouth but can't seem to find a horse. I've put them in touch with a professional golfer who was in the year/2 years below me to see if he remembers but he hasn't replied yet. All my friends who I'm in touch with went to Thorogate in 1973.

Finally got my copy of the book and have spent a few nostalgic hours thumbing through it. Some nice memories of local players and to answer Grists's question, there is a small section for the girls game. The funniest part is the one picture showing the Monkwood team that won it in 1972, they nearly managed to cut me out
