I'm with Sinkov, I thought it was clear now that this type of chat was on their own specific threads?

I'm going to take Alfie's advice and open ONE thread entitled POLITICS and then you can browse or not.

Any other threads that may be regarded as politically motivated will just die a natural death.

That should work mon ami, them as wants to read about and discuss matters political can do so to their heart's content, them as doesn't can steer clear and everyone's happy. What's not to like ?

It's like trying to deliberately choose not to breath wmd.

Politics has its effect on everyone, whether you like it or not.

This is why it is essential that people, especially those of us of voting age, are active and knowledgeable about politics.

Don’t be an ostrich and bury your head in the sand. Either way nobody gets out alive, react, protest and vote.

19000 innocent people bombed to bits in under six weeks impacts on my psyche greatly and obviously some people don't give a $hit.

I'll just have to suck it up and visit more politically orientated sites.

Rich Arabs buying up football is political.

The UK government sanctioning Russian owned football clubs is political.

Taking the knee at football games is political.

I'm not sure at all about how one can take politics out of football.

Alf once said, if I see owt about politics I stop reading the thread.

Alf lives in his RL bubble and that's OK too.

BT, you explain your views well, however, there are those of us who, although we may look at political aspects, decide that, no matter what we may do, we have no effect whatsover on what happens in those political circles, therefore we just don't waste our lives worrying about it. Que sera sera but I am looking forward to seeing Suzi Quatro at The Glasshouse tonight and she really doesn't give a s**t!

I suppose that's why I was the Political Education Officer in various CLP's mein freund. No matter how hard I try the bloody flame will just not go out.

I will however confine my comments to the appropriate threads.

I'm away for most of the next six weeks and I won't really bother posting.

I doubt anyone objects to discussing footballers taking the knee or the acquisition of PL clubs by Arab States or Russian oligarchs, football and politics are sometimes intertwined and valid subjects for discussion, it's the incessant insertion of irrelevant political comments into purely football threads that pisses people off imo.

Sinkov, there are 100 different armed conflicts going on throughout the world as of today nad lots of innocent people are being killed through no fault of their own.
Sadly, this happens all the time, lessons are never learned, or are ignored because of the whims of greedy people who will try anything to obtain power, wealth, land etc., etc.
WHat pisses me off is the fact that, to some, the only conflict of any importance is one of those taking place n the Middle East

The Middle East is where world’s collide. It matters to know what is going on but it seems the ostriches want to bury their heads in the sand.
