A disappointing performance and a disappointing result. We let ourselves get bullied by West Ham. I have noticed this season that most of the sides we have played, are physically bigger, stronger and more mature. With the exception of Dawson we are a very young side and we need to win games with skill and not brute force.

I thought the referee was weak and he allowed the home side to get away with some atrocious tackles. Coufal is a thug, and his two tackles on Bellegarde both deserved a straight red, but only one yellow was issued. Gary O'Neil was shown a yellow for voicing his dissatisfaction over a tackle on Cunha but far worse happened on the pitch. The Hammers used to have the reputation of being praised for their quality football, but after today? Gillett was on VAR duty, and he has history with Wolves!!!!

Our goal being disallowed was a turning point, in the fact that we were just getting back into the game. It was marginal and without VAR it would have been allowed. Why did it take five minutes to make the decision?

The three goals conceded were poor, and questions about our defence need to be addressed if we are looking to stay safe in mid table. Chelsea on Christmas eve could make for a happy Christmas or a miserable one.
