Okay, so aside from Caicedo who should have had a red, and Mudryk who could easily have been off for grabbing Bruno, and Gallagher who should have had a yellow for his dive (before the yellow he got), and Sterling who should have had 2 yellows for diving, that all aside Chelsea were the better team?!?!

Both goals were on the back of individual mistakes and we were really poor for the vast majority of the game… Tripps made a mistake sure, but for 80 minutes of that game a goal was looking likely/possible for Chelsea… we brought it on ourselves by not being able to get and keep the ball… if you let the opposition constantly attack after attack they’ll either break through themselves or a mistake will happen.

Gutted for Tripps it was him, but he’s got the minerals to bounce back from it… he has been, and still is, one of our best players and a true leader on the pitch… anyone questioning if he should play needs to give their heads a wobble.

We’ve saved ourselves upto 3 games, which if we didn’t win (and odd’s are we’d have to face Liverpool to do so) then it’s completely meaningless.

We now get a couple of extra rests for the semi’s, and we don’t have games moved and pile up toward the end stages of the season.

Also, remember back how distracted we seemed and how badly our form suffered in the run up to the semi’s and final… we won’t have that happen, which is how Man Utd ended up third last season.

Finally, if nothing else this drives home that we need a few signings. I’m gonna say a keeper is a must now, again (like Everton) Dubravka seemed to second guess himself and he could have come out and challenged to take the ball rather than let Mudryk pounce… Tripps error but compounded by Dubravka.
