Dyche was categorised, incorrectly, as a 'certain type' of manager. He was virtually unemployable in the PL as a result. He was lucky to get the Everton job, they had run out of options and desperate times called for desperate measures. Under normal circumstances, say 3/4 years ago, he wouldn't have even been close to their short-list.
