Listening to Stockport's manager and seeing the comments of many of the Stockport fans, they are hugely complimentary about the way Notts played, describing us as undoubtedly the best they've faced this season. Of course, it's easier to be magnanimous if you've walked off with the three points, but I think the comments are genuine.

We are, in effect, where Stockport were last season. We know we are good enough to be more than competitive at this higher level, but now it's a case of taking everything that is (widely acknowledged as) good about our game and building upon it by ironing out the weaknesses (defensively). This certainly isn't the time to be changing everything just because of a few adverse results, any more than our good results up to October were reason to conclude we were unstoppable. It's a learning process, and taking things in the round, we're doing fine for the stage we're at.
