What with work and one thing and another, haven't had much chance to pick up the guitar lately but will definitely look at this in more detail when I get chance-though may have to brush up on my claw-picking technique! Have a great New Year!

Sadly not too much progression on my main keyboard skills as haven't had the time to really practice so my left hand/right hand co-ordination has rather a long way to go! I've always wanted to be able to play keyboard but admit to finding it quite difficult and frustrating at times. On the other hand, I have managed to get a lot more basic chord shapes down now for the right hand so muscle memory has kicked in and I'm no longer worrying about which fingers play which notes at last 😁. I certainly wouldn't call it proper piano playing! Still, even with just using these chord shapes with the left hand playing the bass note and trying to do some arpeggio runs I find that I can at least put in some keyboard parts when I'm recording stuff.

I'm getting to grips with the MIDI keyboard now which is so, so much better than having to use the laptop keyboard to play the "instruments" on Ableton when I'm adding orchestration parts like strings or horns. I'm very far from producing any kind of polished work and still yet to master programming drums but find recording stuff very enjoyable, which, I guess is the main thing.

Would certainly recommend you look into recording with something like Focusrite yourself as I think you also might enjoy it. Did you ever get one of those electro-acoustic hybrid guitars you were looking at btw?
